New program for aspiring marketers

The Imperial College and the innovative global marketing association, UK based Global Marketing Network have combined to launch a new marketing programme for aspiring marketers.

The programme, known as the Preliminary Certificate in Marketing (UK), is endorsed by Global Marketing Network and commences on February 3. Participants taking the three month intensive programme will receive a solid foundation in marketing practice and automatically become members of Global Marketing Network. Upon successful completion of the programme they will become affiliate members of the Network and be able to use the letters AffilGMN after their name.

Chairman of ICBS Group and Member of the Board of Study of Imperial College, Dr. Nalaka Godahewa mentioned that "there is a need for an internationally recognised short course in marketing practice to provide aspiring marketers a solid foundation to their career and further studies and PCM (UK) has been designed with that focus in view".

The Co-author of the Study Text for PCM (UK), and Senior Lecturer, Lewie Diasz added that "many areas such as international marketing, ICT, crisis management, CSR and new product development have been incorporated.

A free study text and coaching by a team of professional marketers will provide the participants an insight into marketing practice".

Dr Ranjan Madanayake Country Director and Member of the Advisory Council of GMN said "PCM (UK) is a practical programme that will help the participants to apply in real world what they have studied in the classroom. At the end of this 3 month programme they will be assessed on the completion of a very practical Assignment and thus there will be NO EXAM as done in other programmes.

This innovative technique will develop practical marketers. We are confident that it will be one of the best short courses in Marketing Practice in the world today".

He added that "free membership of an innovative global institute and designatory letters will add value to their profile".

Darrell Kofkin, Global Marketing Network's Chief Executive, and Founder of London School of Marketing said "We are delighted to endorse this new innovative programme and to work closely with Imperial College to further the development of Sri Lankan marketing professionals".
