Facelift for Naula bus stand

The Naula bus stand in Matale district serving a large number of passengers who are mainly engaged in agriculture is being rehabilitated as a modern facility by the Urban Development Authority with all the requirements of passengers catered to in the development plan, Minister of Urban Development and Sacred Area Development Dinesh Gunawardena said.

He said the old bus stand that was in a bad state of disrepair had been a problem to the rural people of this agricultural district as they had used the bus service to bring small quantities of their produce to the town in buses.

He said the bus stand will also have a two storeyed building with shops on the upper floor with rest room and toilet facilities for the passengers with water service on the ground floor.
