CAVSF strikes at unauthorised press

You name it, anything is forged:

A large racket involving the printing of unauthorised documents was busted following a raid by the Central Anti Vice Striking Force (CAVSF) on a private printing press at Gampaha last week, Police sources told the Sunday Observer.

Police took into custody a Grama Niladhari, under interdiction a retired Grama Niladhari of the Gampaha Divisional Secretary's office and a retired officer from the Government Printing Dept., who had owned the printing press.

Police found forged printed certificates of the Gampaha Grama Niladhari office, Clearance certificates of Headquarters Inspector of Gampaha Police, birth certificates of the Registrar, Gampaha, Marriage certificates, examinations result sheets issued by Principals of schools, a rubber seal of the Registrar of Gampaha and the seal of the Divisional Secretary.

Following a tip off by DIG (Staff) of Police Headquarters, D.A. De Fonseka, the CAVSF moved in.
