Inter-International Schools swimming meet Feb. 13 and 14

SWIMMING: The Inter-International Schools Swimming Meet will be the first swimming meet for 2009 approved by the Interim Committee of Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union on February 13 and 14 at the Sugathadasa Stadium pool. According to draft swimming calendar sent Out by SLASU Interim Committee, the Novices Swimming Championship was clashing with the Inter-International Schools Swimming Meet.

The authorities of Gateway International School and Asian International School informed Kiran Atapattu, Secretary Interim Committee of SLASU to solve this problem AS the Novices Meet was clashing with IIS Meet.

Kiran Atapattu said that he took immediate steps to accommodate the Inter-International Schools Meet for February 13 and 14 as priority should be to support the schools swimmers who will be our future stars.

Kiran added that the matter is now solved and the Novices Swimming Championship - the first meet to be conducted by SLASU has now been fixed for February 18 and 21 at the Sugathadasa Stadium pool.
