Kandy commuters inconvenienced

The bus strike by the Kandy South Depot and Kandy North Depot of the Mahanuara Bus Company Limited continued for the third day in succession causing much hardship for the commuters in the Kandy area.

This strike by the employees of the two CTB Depots began on Thursday afternoon with non-payment of salaries and allowances being the main issues.On Friday, thousands of schoolchildren were put to great inconvenience as they had to find alternate mode of transport in spite of having season tickets.
