‘Dancing Star’
, the movie, Sirasa TV’s maiden cinematic creation hit the CEL circuit theaters recently.

According to channel head Susara Dinal Dancing Star is the first film to be produced by a television channel based on one of their popular reality shows. Packed with a star studded cast lead by title holder of `Sirasa Dancing Stars’, Season One, Dushyanth Weeraman and the charismatic Roshan Ranawana, the production introduces Shiroshi Romeshika to cinema.

Shiroshi is a talented young dancer emerging out of an urban neighbourhood. Her route from the backwaters to the glitz and glamour of stardom takes many a twist and turn. Her unexpressed emotions for fellow dancer and singer, Dushyanth, remain just that; unexpressed.

Fate would have it that her skill is noted by Dunuwila played by experienced actor, Ravindra Randeniya. He sees immense potential in the young performer. While Dushyanth remains behind, Shiroshi is swept off into a life of glamour.

The story shifts into a battle of love and trust. Roshan, a young dancer, pairs up with Shiroshi in her performance only to fall in love. He has eyes only for Shiroshi despite the intentions of competitor Nilanthi, craves for Roshan’s affection.

In his attempt to groom Shiroshi into stardom, Dunuwila experiences the full force of social stigmas which look down upon the middle aged man and his platonic love for a young dancer. His wife, played by veteran actress Malini Fonseka, fumbles as she tries to come to terms with her husband’s intentions. Will Shiroshi emerge as a winner? Who will be able to win over their ladylove’s hand? Only time will tell.
