Experience the indigenous variety of food that binds the ethnic blend of our island home.

“Celebrate a United Sri Lanka” now on every Sunday at the Governor’s Terrace at Hotel Mount Lavinia. Its truly an authentic spread of Sinhala, Tamil, Muslim, Malay, Burgher and the `Adi Waasi’ cuisine that cannot be paralleled.

Food and music is in harmony at the legendary Mount Lavinia Hotel.

Guests will be welcomed to a truly Sri Lankan atmosphere with floral decor highlighting historical stone pillars, sesath, elephants, batiks, hurricane lamps and with hostesses in multi-ethnic dress to symbolize the unity.

Cultural shows and a combination of oriental music for entertainment will enhance the theme for the evening.

Food of all ethnic groups have been carefully selected and planned to give the spread an exotic twist of authenticity. Like traditional Sinhala crispy hoppers, pittu, mutton curry, brinjal pahi, fried kos-atta and more of the food down the ages.

Tamil specialities will include a miscellaneous variety of tempting dishes like Vadais in curd, dhosais, kotta kelungu, vegetable bonda and the all time favourite the Crab Curry.

The Malay and Muslim cuisine will consist of mani pittu, satay, blachan, the adukk roti, kottu roti, fish roti and cheese roti and much more.

The Burgher speciality will quite naturally be the lamprais wrapped in banana leaf and other typical Burgher delicacies. Finally the `Adi Waasi’ spread of katu ala, kurrakkan roti stuffed with fish and thibbatu mellum and beef dummassa.

Experience the specially created cuisine and take home memories of a splendid evening out at the Governor’s Terrace, Hotel Mount Lavinia.
