THE dream HOTEL

Mt. Lavinia Hotel was selected by the Lisa Film as the choice for the best location in Sri Lanka for the 'The dream HOTEL episode series recognized worldwide. Creating ripples in the holiday destination scenes in the South Asian region and the recent feather in its cap is the legendary Mt. Lavinia Hotel, a paradise beach hotel, famous worldwide for its natural surrounding and historical background together with cuisine both traditional and contemporary, which also includes fusion food to blend with the needs of visitors the world over.

Mt. Lavinia Hotel is indeed a dream hotel, a legacy of colonial heritage, a monument of forbidden love and romance, filled with enchantment, mesmerizing a desire to all and sundry.

Producer, Otto Retzer of 'The dream HOTEL' series on a visit to Sri Lanka 20 years ago was inspired by the natural beauty and charm of Sri Lankan hospitality at the Mt. Lavinia Hotel that it was earmarked for the perfect location for the dream hotel series which in turn was a hub of activity with the crew busy making the best use of the hotel and weather during the last few days.

The sound of drum beats, the Kandyan dancers, traditional food fare with a natural backdrop of the sea, the blue sky, the sunset, the swaying palms, the enduring expanse of old architecture, the Governor's Terrace, the cove, the hut, the whisper of romance were all captured in celluloid.

"We highly appreciate the support and treatment meted out by the management and staff of the Mt. Lavinia Hotel which in my opinion is the ideal location for a dream holiday. The excellent ambience, the smiles and warmth within, there is no doubt that Mt. Lavinia Hotel is the most comfortable in the world." said Retzer among a busy schedule during the shooting of 'The dream Hotel'. The crew is also due to visit the Pinnawela elephant orphanage, Minneriya, Elle Park, Botanical Gardens - Hakgala, Peradeniya to add colour to the episode.

'The dream HOTEL' - Sri Lanka will be telecasted in a 90-minute series on the public broadcast channels ORF (Austalian Television) and ARD (First German Television) The T.V. program has reached countries as far as France, Italy, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Hungary, Latvia, Turkey, Slovakia, The Ukraine, Indonesia and China. Individual Episodes highlighting the country's tourist highlights, cultural aspects and traditional scenes are depicted to partray the significance of the film. A few of the destinations selected and viewed are form Beachcomber - Sainte Anne's Resort, Seychelles, 'Dinarobin' Mauritius, Bali, Mexico, South Africa, 'Emirates Palace' Dubai/Abu Dhabi, 'Taj Lake' India, Thailand and the Dominican Republic, 'Palace of Sun City', South Africa and now Mt. Lavinia Hotel, Sri Lanka.

Otto Retzer and the crew with the cast is scheduled to make the episode in Sri Lanka with Mt. Lavinia Hotel offering the world a paradise representing Sri Lankan hospitality.
