Water’s Edge, the 5 star hotel that created a benchmark in the hospitality industry, will sustain its momentum in growth under the Supreme Court appointed Board of Management, prominent businessmen from the hospitality industry, banking industry and design consultancy sectors.

Headed by the Secretary to the Ministry of Urban Development and Sacred Areas, Dr. Prathap Ramanujam, as the Chairman of the Water’s Edge Limited, the Board of Directors comprise Chairman, Jetwing Hotels & Resorts, Hiran Cooray, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Conventions Bureau, Prema Cooray, Chief Executive Officer, Pan Asia Banking Corporation, Ms. Kimarli Fernando, Chairman Galle Face Hotel, S.G. Gardiner, a prominent Attorney-at-Law Sugath Karunanayake, a well known Architect Ismeth Rahim.

The Golf Course will be done away with, it was revealed, to accommodate the provision of water retention from the surrounding lands of Battaramulla, converting the 200 acre expanse of lush land in to an ecologically conducive environment promoting eco balance and the spread of fauna and flora.

Corporate Affairs Manager, Water’s Edge, Anusha Abeysinghe, said “Water’s Edge will continue to offer its customer the highest quality services and exclusive products that have bagged an unpresedented number of culinary awards. Our Human Resources are our strength. We have retained customer loyalty through extraordinary levels of service delivery. Both the private sector and the MICE industry will benefit enormously now that we are bouncing back in to fully-gledged business, as usual.”

Banqueting and Conferencing Halls await bookings and the award winning Chefs are ready to take orders to make things happen with just that special flavour and aroma peculiar to Water’s Edge. Water’s Edge has resumed activity with courage and positivity ready to move on despite changes that have taken place. “Nothing deters determination to make the most of what is present” reiterates Ms. Abeysinghe with confidence, a sure sign of Water’s Edge revival, back to form.

Water’s Edge Golf Course will return to its original state of a wetland as per Supreme Court orders. But Sri Lanka Land Reclamation and Development Corporation will utilise 8 acres of the total 200 acre property for their planned development projects and the balance land will serve as a water retention area where a periphery canal will be extended from Ambagaha Handiya. The Club Membership is on the rise, insisted the new Chairman on the Board, since the new board took charge and have reached 150 members todate. The privileged members will enjoy 15per cent discount on their F&B billing and Family Membership is down to Rs.60,000 + VAT per member while individuals are entertained as members at a bonus rate of Rs. 40,000. The joining fee is lifted to entice new membership levels.
