Talks between Minister Moragoda and Chinese officials

Minister of Tourism Milinda Moragoda had bilateral discussions with the Chairman of the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA), Shao Qiwei and several high-level officials at the China World Hotel recently. The CNTA is the main Government body responsible for all activities related to tourism in China, and the Chairman Shao Qiwei reports directly to the State Council and to Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao. While extending a warm welcome to Minister Moragoda, the Chairman of the CNTA briefed the Minister on the increasing numbers of outbound tourists from China and the fierce competition in the local Chinese tourism market.
