First Arthur C. Clarke memorial lecture
The first commemorative lecture on Sri Lankabhimanya Sir Arthur C.
Clarke will be held on March 19 at the BMICH. The lecture will be
delivered by the eminent Indian space scientist Dr. Krishnaswamy
Kasturirangan, a press release from the Arthur C. Clarke Institute for
Modern Technologies said.
Dr. Kasturirangan had headed a number of universities and research
institutes and headed India's space program for several years and was
responsible for bringing India into the international space exploration
and research sectors achieving great victories for his motherland, the
release said.
The commemoration lecture covering the application of space science
as predicted by the late Sir Arthur C. Clarke who made Sri Lanka his
home will be at 5.00 p.m. Minister of Science and Technology Prof Tissa
Vitharana will be presiding over the event.
