Mahinda in 218 run win

CRICKET: Mahinda College, Galle registered a convincing victory by 218 runs over Lumbini College, Colombo in their game concluded on Friday at Ratgama Public Grounds in Galle. Yet Mahinda were a little bit frustrated as their skipper Ramesh Buddhika was short of 41 runs to complete his season's total of 1,000 runs.

Mahinda who were 279 for 9 declared restricted Lumbini College to a meagre 85 all out. For the second innings Mahinda scored 169 for 6 declared and at the close of the final day Lumbini were 145 all out thereby tamely surrendering to Mahinda.

Mahinda - 1st innings: 279 for 9 declared (Kaushalya Gajasinghe 89, Rumesh Buddhika 45, Sajith Kelumpriya 34, Tharaka Nimesh 28, Nisala Tharaka 20, Nivantha Thiksila 20, Wickum Sanjay 4 for 75, Pradeep Wasantha 3 for 87).

Lumbini - 1st innings: 85 all out (R. Sandaruwan 41, Nisala Tharaka 3 for 22, C. Silva 2 for 10, Ramesh Buddhika 2 for 11, Mayura Dihan 2 for 12).

Mahinda - 2nd innings: 169 for 6 declared (Ramesh Buddhika 61, Sachith Lakmal 25, Denuwan Rajakaruna 31, M. Aslam 3 for 46).

Lumbini - 2nd innings: 145 all out (M. Aslam 71, Danushka Sandaruwan 19, Dihan 3 for 27, Ramesh Buddhika 3 for 26).
