World conference on education

Paris, (Prensa Latina) : UNESCO announced the World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development will be held in Bonn, Germany, from Mar 31 to April 2, with some 700 international stakeholders attending.

According to UNESCO (United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture) Communications and Media Office in Paris, the meeting is scheduled to determine the results obtained so far in the area and its projections.

The stakeholders attending the conference entitled “Moving into the Second Half of the UN Decade” will analyze the progress since the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development; DESD enters its second half of the 10-year period designated as 2005-2014.

The Conference will stress the importance of EDS in all education levels, will promote international exchanges in terms of EDS, especially among the countries of the North and South.

It will also assess the results of the activities carried out during the first half of UN Decade, and draw strategies for the future.
