Trinity and Kingswood excel

The two Kandy schools Trinity and Kingswood notched up the highest scores defeating Carey 54\0 and St. Thomas' Bandarawela 52\0 respectively on the first day of the All Island Inter-School Under-20 Seven-a-Side Rugby competition conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Association and sponsored by Yes FM at the Royal College Sports Complex grounds at Stanley Wijesundera Mawatha yesterday.

The tournament will commence at 8.30 a.m. today and the following matches will be worked off.

In the `Cup' Championship: defending champions Isipathana, St. Joseph's, Dharmaraja, Kingswood, CWW Kannangara, Prince of Wales, Trinity and Ananda will vie for honours.

In the `Plate' Championship: St. John's Nugegoda, Royal Panadura, Nalanda, Lumbini, Thurstan, Science College, Maliyadeva and St. Sylvester's will battle for supremacy.

In the `Bowl' Championship: Siri Piyaratana, Dharmapala, St. Aloysius', St. Thomas' Bandarawela, Asoka MV, Lalith Athulathmudali MV, Carey, and St. Sebastian's, Kandana will be pitted against each other.
