A beary wedding
Here’s something you don’t see everyday! and you may never see this
ever again! American, Casey Anderson, had a beary big surprise on his
wedding day. The 33-year old used grizzly bear, Brutus, as his bestman!
The massive animal could kill a person with just a swipe of his huge
paw but photos from the wedding show Brutus on his best behaviour.
Casey’s hand-reared the bear from a cub and is extremely close to him.
Casey also shares his jacuzzi with Brutus and lets him sit at the dinner
table. He says Brutus is his best friend.
A brave
man!
He must have nerves of steel! A high wire artist in China has
completed a 700 metre long tightrope walk - uphill! SaiMaiti Aishan
walked along a steel cable at a 40 degree angle. And the 25-year-old had
no safety harness!
He simply used a pole to balance! The swaying cable, more than 300
metres above ground, is normally used to carry tourist cable cars up
Tianmenshan mountain in Hunan province. It was Aishan’s second attempt
at the challenge. In October last year, he slipped 50 metres from the
end. Luckily, he managed to catch hold of the wire and was rescued by
another climber.
A
high-flying holiday
Talk about being a high-flier! People taking some time out in Costa
Rica are now able to relax in a luxurious new hotel suite.
The view is apparently awesome but room service may be sky-high! A
vintage Boeing airliner has been converted into a hotel.
It’s just out from a hillside, offering guests views of the ocean and
the jungle from balconies built on each wing. The two bedroom suite is
housed inside the fuselage of a 1965 Boeing 727 which was destined for
scrap.
Inside the meticulously refurbished airframe are two wood-panelled
bedrooms, a kitchenette, dining room and living area and two bathrooms.
It costs between Sterling Pounds 200 and Sterling Pounds 250 per night
to book the unusual suite on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica’s Manuel
Antonio National Park.

The pig who feels a little sheepish
Meet Elizabeth. She mucks around in mud and she has a fetching set of
trotters. But she’s special.Elizabeth has a golden fleece that makes her
look like she could pull the wool over enough eyes to make her the pride
of the flock, a sheep-like pig. She’s actually the queen of her species -
a rare Austrian Mangalitza Gilt - and one of only a handful to thrive in
Britain. Elizabeth was the star buy at a livestock auction in Lancashire
at the weekend. She was eventually sold for Sterling Pounds 250 to a man
who wanted `Liz’ as a pet for his daughter. |
