Lankaputhra launches Laksaviya
Lankaputhra Development Bank, which enjoys total state patronage, has
now come up with a unmachable flexible leasing scheme.
The Laksaviya Leasing marks a new chapter in the history of
Lankaputhra Development Bank. Minister of Ports, Civil Aviation,
Irrigation and Water Management, Chamal Rajapaksa ceremonially launched
the leasing scheme by issuing the first lease agreement on the 06th June
at the Hambantota branch of Lankaputhra Development Bank.
This scheme has been designed to meet the diverse needs of
entrepreneurs efficiently and on an islandwide basis, benefiting small
and medium scale entrepreneurs. Lease arrangements could be obtained
through this scheme for the purchase of agricultural implements,
machinery as well as project related vehicles. Compared to the
commercially oriented leasing provided for purchase of vehicles by most
of the banks, the Lankaputhra leasing scheme encompasses the purchase of
all types of machinery related to a project. It also offers a flexible
and attractive repayment scheme. Introducing the Laksaviya Leasing
Scheme, Chairman of the Bank, A Sarath De Silva said that it fulfilled a
long felt need by the rural entrepreneurs for an uncomplicated leasing
scheme. A notable feature is the speed at which entrepreneurs could meet
their leasing needs through this scheme.
de Silva noted that the Laksaviya Leasing Scheme would help harness
the strength of the rural entrepreneurs towards national development.
The Hambantota District Secretary, the Acting General Manager of
Lankaputhra Development Bank, and the Chief Risk and Operations Officer
as well as several customers were present on this occasion. Minister of
