Free Cubans - SL parliamentarians

Sri Lankan Parliamentarians have demanded that the five innocent Cubans who have been charged on a false grounds in the USA should be freed immediately.

Minister and the President of the Sri Lanka Cuban Parliamentary Friendship Association Prof. Tissa Vitarana in a statement stated:The false case against the five innocent Cubans, who were collecting information on a terrorist plan against Cuba and their prolonged incarceration, has been condemned worldwide. It is the only US trial ever condemned by the Human Rights Commission. We are now awaiting a decision of the US Supreme Court on whether or not they will hear the appeal of these five Cubans. We understand that the US administration has filed a brief urging the Court to deny a hearing.The Parliamentarians of Sri Lanka demand that the US Supreme Court hold a hearing for the Cuban Five:
