SLT to enhance communication facilities of Browns

Sri Lanka Telecom, the nation's number one integrated communications service provider empowered Brown and Company PLC with a total voice communication solution, enabling the company to have an effective inter branch communication system.

This communication solution features state-of-the-art PABX infrastructure as well as SLT Broadband Internet services through ADSL technology.

This will allow all of Browns Exide PowerMart branches to have access to a single communication network at any given time, enabling them to communicate with the head office. The Browns `PowerMart' centre was opened, in line with the concept of offering Exide customers one stop convenience and world class service. Exide is a well-known and reputed brand name for automotive batteries, motorcycle batteries and other battery accessories around the world.Speaking on the significance of the agreement, Janaka Abeysinghe, General Manager (Corporate Sales) of SLT said: "We are extremely pleased to have been given the opportunity to partner with the Browns Group, which is well established and diversified businesses.

We firmly believe that a strong communication platform will be a good vehicle to further empower their business.

This solution will cut down costs of inter-branch communication as well as increase productivity, resulting in cost effective real time communication." Adding further, Panduka Weerasingha, GM (Agriculture/Battery and New Business) of Browns and Company PLC said: "We are glad to have this opportunity to partner SLT, which has been well established brand for over 150 years in the region. We are extremely happy that they have provided us with a customized solution that makes our operations smoother as well as minimizing costs.
