Tablets prevent waterborne diseases

George Steuart Agencies (Pvt) Ltd., a subsidiary of George Steuart
and Co Ltd., and Medentech Ireland, launched the Aquatabs water
purification tablets system to prevent the waterborne diseases at
Cinnamon Grand, Colombo recently.
Aquatabs tablets when added to unsafe drinking water makes the water
safe, killing microorganisms to prevent diseases like cholera, typhoid,
dysentery and other waterborne diseases using the method of releasing
chlorine in an effective and safe manner said Michael Gately, of Global
Sales and Marketing of Medentech, Ireland at the launched.
He said this method of water purification conforms to international
standards of safe drinking water and only ingredients used in
pharmaceuticals were included in the tablets.
The tablets are safe for transportation by land, sea and air under
normal conditions and easier to handle in tablet form. They have a shell
life of five years even in tropical conditions and are very useful for
preventing diseases specially in areas where water has become
contaminated, he also said.
