SWITCH -Asia enlighten businessmen

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, under the SWITCH - Asia Program funded by the European Commission, is promoting Sustainable Consumption and Production to the Food & Beverage Industry among Small & Medium Enterprises.

The objective of the SWITCH-Asia program is to improve the performance of the industries through promotion of cost effective production techniques and best practices of sustainable production. It seeks to minimize the use of natural resources, toxic materials and emissions of waste and pollutants in order not to jeopardize the needs of future generations.

The main benefits are derived through free consultancy and advisory services towards environmental preservation.

A training program for 30 companies in the Food & Beverage Sector has been organized and will be held on 14 -15 July at the Lower Crystal Room, Hotel Taj Samudra.

The sectors covered would be dairy products, fruit products, bakery products and spices

Patali Champika Ranawaka, Minster of Environmental and Natural Resources will address the participants at the inauguration.
