'Susima' the popular teledrama that was enjoyed by masses in the
1980s will be brought to the local silver screen by its producer, Rohan
Weliwita.
Though the story took shape as a teledrama, director Weliwita stated
that it is the original 1970s picture story which will be used as the
plot in recreating the tale on celluloid format.
Speaking at the Muhurath ceremony held recently at Sovereign Hotel,
Rajagiriya, Weliwita said that some of the latest technological devices
like High Definition MPEG 4 cameras will be used in transferring `Susima'
to the silver screen.
Suraj Mapa, Paboda Sandeepani, Robin Fernando, Upeksha Swarnamali and
others will portray roles in the movie which hopes to introduce several
new faces to Sri Lankan cinema. The movie will be produced by the ASP
Group.
Music by singing legend Clarence Wijewardena will be included in the
movie.
Centigradz and Kasun Kalhara will direct the music. The cameraman is
Sumedha Liyanage. The art director is Janaka Imankada. |
