‘Safe Hands’ project to enhance maternity care

The Pears Safe Hands initiative is committed towards renovating and enhancing maternity and child healthcare facilitates in government hospitals across Sri Lanka.

The home of the latest project launched by the Pears Safe Hands fund is the Nikaweratiya Base Hospital, situated in the Kurunegala District. The newly renovated and refurbished maternity wards, children’s wards and the labour room of the hospital was opened on August 1, 2009.

Since its launch in 1960, mothers over the generations have placed their trust in Pears products, which have always been a part of those very special moments shared with their babies. Brand Manager for Pears, Wathsala Aluthgedera said that the Safe Hands project was launched to give back to the Sri Lankan community something tangible, for placing their trust in Pears products over the years.
