A forty-one-thousand-five-hundred strong Civil Security Force - (CSF)
will be deployed for development and construction in addition to
national security, said Civil Security Director General Rear Admiral

development projects to the Civil Security Department during the past
few months.
Construction work on the 13 kilometre, Kabithigollawa - Padaviya road
was one of the projects completed by the CSD recently, saving Rs. 48
million for the Government. The renovation of the Avukana archaeological
site is another project launched by the CSF, an overall saving of Rs. 7
million for the Government.
Among the other projects undertaken by the CSF are the 2,300 year-old
Asana Garaya at Hallmillevatiye, Kabithigollawa, the Ritigala
archaeological site renovation and wild life conservation activities.
Apart from the construction projects the CSF is running agricultural
farms in Walioya, Ampara, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Kantale and
Serunuwara. Weerasekera said that the CSF is engaged in brick
manufacturing and small scale steel-based industries in Welioya, Ampara
and Kantale. "The country needs large scale human resource inputs for
the success of the North-East and South development projects.
The CSF is happy that it has a well-disciplined and efficient young
workforce, Weerasekera said.
