Honourable discharge for Army deserters
All soldiers and probationers who have deserted the Army on or before
May 31, 2009 will be honourably discharged, the Army Headquarters
states.
They are requested to report to their regiments at the following
centres between 24.08.2009 and 14.09.2009 with their NICs or original
and photocopy of the police entry in the event of the loss of the NIC or
Driving Licence or passport or postal identity card.
Where the profession is stated to be "Soldier" in the NIC, stamp size
five colour photographs should be produced. In the event of the Army
identity card or similar document issued by the Army being produced the
certificate of discharge will be issued on the day itself. Other rankers
too are requested to make use of this opportunity and made their future
secure.
1. Panagoda Bodhirama Viharaya - Armed Corps and other regiments
around Panagoda.
2. Panagoda Sri Bodhirajaramaya - Armed Intelligence Corps/Electrical
and Mechanical regiment/Military Police/Army Women's Corps/Pioneer
Corps.
3. Sinha Regiment, Ambepussa - All ranks of the Sinha Regiments.
4. Gemunu Regiment (Watch) - Kuruwita.
5. Gajaba Regiment - Saliyapura
6. Vijayaba Light Infantry, Boyagane - Vijayaba Light Infantry, Sri
Lanka National Defence Corps and Rajarata Rifles
7. Commando Regiment, Ganemulla.
8. Army Special Corps - Seeduwa.
