SLT Mobitel comes out with newest
Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel, the national mobile service provider, in
collaboration with the Sri Lanka State Trading Corporation launched the
latest, the Senehasa Upahara mobile package enabling Upahara subscribers
to obtain five supplementary connections and a high speed internet
package.
Chairperson Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel, Leisha De Silva Chandrasena
said the latest offer will enable members of the Senehasa Upahara group
to enjoy low call rates together with high speed mobile internet
connections. The package offers 3.5G high speed internet connection, 50
minutes free video calls, within the Mobitel network, 50 cents per
outgoing voice/video calls, 25 cents per SMS and monthly rental of Rs.
50 per line.
CEO of Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel, Suren J. Amarasekera said the
package will further strengthen the objectives of Upahara of enabling
easy access to mobile telephony to a large number of state sector
employees and senior citizens.
Chairman, State Trading Corporation, Pradeep Gunawardena said the
latest offer will be a big saving to the public sector employees and
pensioners.
The Senehasa Upahara package was introduced in line with the
Declaration of the year of ICT and English by President Mahinda
Rajapaksa.
Minister, Trade and Marketing, Bandula Gunawardena said this
initiative will provide an opportunity to children in the North and the
East who were deprived of basic necessities of life, to communicate and
widen their knowledge. (LF)
