Ceylinco Life helps two schools in Trincomalee

Two schools in Trincomalee district have been assisted by Life Insurance Leader Ceylinco Life under the company's Schools Development Programme, one of its key Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. The company has built a new building for the Deepthi Pre school in Tissapura, Kantale and has completed construction of school library building for the Sinhala Maha Vidayalaya Trincomalee, in a demonstration of empathy with needy communities. "It was very satisfying for us to help these two schools which needed urgent assistance," Ceylinco Life Deputy Chairman R. Renganathan said. "It is moving to see how even a relatively small intervention can have a life-changing impact in rural areas."

He pointed out that the pre school has existed for 28 years without a building of its own until Ceylinco Life had come forward to build one. Established in 1981 the Deepthi pre school provides education for 31 Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim children at present. Its classes have been conducted at the Dharmashalawa of the Sri Agbo Temple.
