45 girls and boys schools in u.16 hockey

HOCKEY: Forty five girls and boys schools from all parts of the island will participate in the all-island schools under 13 girls and boys hockey tournament organised by the Kandy District Schools Hockey Association on behalf of the Sri Lanka Schools Hockey which will be worked off at the Asgiriya Stadium in Kandy from October 10th to 12th.

The Chief Guest at the opening ceremony will be the Chief Minister of the Central Province Sarath Ekanayake with the President of the Sri Lanka Hockey Federation Sumith Edirisinghe as the Guest of Honour.The Secretary of the Kandy District Schools Hockey Association Sumith Disanayake said that six girls schools from Kandy, namely Seetha Devi Balika Vidyalaya, Girls High School, Pushpadana Girls College, St. Anthony's Girls College and Hemmamali Balika Vidyalaya and six boys schools from the hill capital - Dharmaraja College, Trinity College, Sri Sumangala College, Kingswood College, St. Sylvester's College and Menikdiwela Central College, Yatinuwara have qualified to play in this tournament.
