Air Force beat Army 5-1 to emerge Inter-Services hockey champs

HOCKEY: Sri Lanka Air Force emerged Inter-Services Hockey Champions for 2009 when they beat Sri Lanka Army by 5 goals to 1 at the Matale Nandamithra International Hockey Stadium recently. In the preliminary round matches, Air Force beat Navy by 3 goals to nil, and Sri Lanka Army beat Sri Lanka Navy by 6 goals to 1 and Air Force beat Sri Lanka Army by 2 goals to 1.In the final, centre-forward M. M. Mulafer scored all five goals for the Airmen while I Jayasundera scored the solitary goal for Army.
