Bishop's College - Tennis Champs

TENNIS: All Island National School Tennis Tournament was worked out recently at the hard courts of Sri Lanka Tennis Association, Green Path, Colombo.

14 girls schools vied for honours this year. Bishop's College, Colombo fielding a young but formidable team emerged as worthy champions, displaying a high brand of tennis in every outing. Led by versatile Samantha Samarawickrama the team comprised of Vice-captain Shannelle Abayasekara, Sherene Wijesinghe (both u 14 & u 16 Junior National Players), Dinushki Ranasinghe, Shankari Thyakaran (both u-14 Junior National players) and Indeevari Wijesekara. Bishop's College, Colombo coached by former National Player Mahesha Seneviratne successfully defended their title which they won in 2008 and made it two-in-a-row.
