Mercantile Badminton Oct. 6 to 11

BADMINTON: Three hundred and fifty shuttlers from 30 affiliated member firms will participate at the Mercantile Badminton Association Open Badminton Championships 2009 to be worked off from October 6 to 11 at S. Thomas' College Indoor Stadium, Mt. Lavinia.The events to be held are: Men's singles and doubles, Women singles and doubles, Mixed doubles, Men's and Women's veteran singles and doubles and Masters doubles. Keen contests are expected as all top ranked national players will be in action. National badminton champion Niluka Karunaratne will be in action, representing Seylan Bank for the first time this year. The finals will be held on October 11.
