Visakha Vidyalaya - National Schools swimming champs

swimming: Visakha Vidyalaya, for the first time, became the overall champions at the National Schools Swimming Championships held at the Sugathadasa Stadium swimming pool. The administration of Visakha Vidyalaya headed by it new Principal Ms. Sandamali Aviruppola, has been working hard towards improving the level of education together with sports. In less than one year Visakha Vidyalaya has been able to win a championship in swimming for the first time, thanks to her vision and efforts.

The principal in her endeavour is supported in her efforts by the Vice Principal in charge of Sports Ms. Sandamali Perera, the PTI, Ms. Muditha Liyanapathirana the POG, Ms. Champa Ranjani and the Teacher-in-charge Swimming, Ms. Jayani Jayaweera.Visakha Vidyalaya is having their own swimming pool since 2008 and they are coached by former Sri Lanka swimmer Nishantha Costa. with a dedicated lot of swimmers they are bound to improve performances under the guidance of the school administration and would be a force to be reponed with in the future. The swimming team is fortunate in having two dynamic captains Charindee Weerasinghe and Seneka Abeywickrema.
