Moratu Vid. team to be felicitated

Moratu Vidyalaya Cricket team which recorded thirteen outright victories and set a record for highest number of victories for a season and won the Best outstation Schools Award will be felicitated by the School Development Society, Past Pupils Union - together with Old Moratu Vidyalian Sports Club on 13th October 2009 at 9 a.m. at the school premises.

The chief guest will be Sports Minister Gamini Lokuge and the guest of honour will be Lands Minister Jeevan Kumaratunga.

Minister Lokuge has allocated a sum of Rupees twenty lakhs for the expansion of the ground. The foundation stone will be laid by the Minister.

A Vice President of the Past Pupils' Association and the Old Moratu Vidyalian Sports Club Lakshman Fernando told the Sunday Observer that they are grateful to Minister Lokuge for the interest taken for the development of sports at school.

Mayor of Moratuwa Samanlal Fernando, President of the OMVSC Brigadier Asoka Perera will participate. Principal, Lakshman de Silva requests all the parents and past pupils to attend to this function.
