Kasun 52 helps Kandy YCC

CRICKET: Old Antonian all-rounder kasun Ekanayake continued his consistency when he stroked an elegant 52 with 8 fours help Kandy Youths Cricket Club to total 280 all in their P. Sara Trophy cricket tournament match against Antonians Cricket Club, Wattala which began at the Prison Ground at Pallekele yesterday.

Rain and bad light interfered with play yesterday and 66 overs were sent down despite the visiting team rushing through their overs.

Medium pacer Vinod Seharaj bowled well to capture 5 for 89 and he was supported by spiker Neil Priyantha who took 3 for 37.

Antonions SC faced just one ball before bad light stopped play for the day.

Kandy Youths CC: 280 (Dhanushka Mitipolaarachchi 37, Prassad Senaratne 26, Kasun Ekanayake 52, Prasad Senarath 37, Nadun Basnayake 42 not out, Chandima Abeykoon 32, Vinod Siwaraj 5 for 89, Neil Priyantha 3 for 37).

Antonians SC: no lose in 0.1 over.
