Vidyartha by 5 wkts

CRICKET: An aggressive knock of 61 with 4 sixes and 4 fours by Ruwan Bandara helped Vidyartha College beat the rain on the nick of time and score a first innings win over Kegalu Vidyalaya in their schools under-19 cricket tournament match played at the Public Grounds, Kegalle on Friday.

Kegalu Vidyalaya scored 140 all out and Vidyartha College were able to overhaul this total just before heavy showers came down and flooded the grounds.

Kegalu Vidyalaya: 140 all out (R.A. Weerasinghe 61 not out, J.V. Madhushan 12, I.S. Wijesinghe 14, Sameera Abeyratne 2 for 6, S.S. Attanayake 4 for 32, Heshan Maheesha 2 for 49).

Vidyartha: 141 for 5 wickets (Ruwan Bandara 62, Dinusha Gunatillake 30, Niluksha Galapitiyage 22, Kasun Wijekoon 12, K.D. Abeyratne 2 for 16, C.N. Weerasinghe 2 for 30).
