Can’t let you go
 I saw you today and you were beautiful. Every moment felt like a
thousand years and your smile spoke a thousand words.
Why didn’t I tell you before? Tell you that I adored you right to my
heart’s core? I was afraid. You were always independent, vibrant and
outgoing whereas I was the quiet one, the wallflower, growing unnoticed.
Silence. You didn’t know what to say. I was afraid that I had done a
great wrong in trying to tell you how I felt, but your eyes told me that
I had been right all along. I was tongue-tied and lost in the moment
when you told me you loved me too. Thoughts whirled in my head but I
could not find the right words. So you left, ashamed at my apparent
rejection.
So I tell you now, my love, that I could never reject you for you are
the fiery tempest created by the wings of the gentle butterfly, which
drew me to my true self. You are the sweetest song composed by the
songbirds, of whose beauty none can tell. You are the last piece of the
puzzle of my life and with you, I am complete. I love you.
