Export project at Bingiriya
The simultaneous focus on the eradication of terrorism, rapid
development in significant sectors like highways, irrigation, ports and
power and energy and continuing commitment to welfare represents the
hallmark of the first four years of President Mahinda Rajapaksa's tenure
of office, Professor G. L. Peiris, Minister of Export Development and
International Trade said in Bingiriya last Thursday.
To mark the fourth anniversary of the President's accession to
office, the Minister inaugurated, in Bingiriya and Udubaddawa, a project
which he described as a model for economic development at the grass
roots level.

The Chief Adikarana Sanghanayake of Gampaha Division, Ven. Dr.
Uyanwatta Gnanaloka Thera (61) has passed away and his remains lie in
state at Kelaniya, Wewalduwa Sri Gnanawimalaramaya. He was the chief
incumbent of Sri Gnanawimalaramaya. His funeral will take place at
Kelaniya, Wewalduwa, Dingiyawatta playground on Monday (Nov. 30)
evening. |
YMCA Carols
The annual carol service of the Colombo Y.M.C.A. will be held on
Saturday, December 5 at 5.30 p.m. in the Colombo Y.M.C.A gymnasium, 39
Bristol Street, Colombo 1.
It is open to the public.

Ministry of Justice and Law Reforms, which was built at a
cost of Rs. 250 million in Colombo. Minister Milinda

Aluthgamage was accorded the honorary title of “Dheera Weera
Janasadhana Sri Lanka” for services rendered by him to the
nation,by the Udarata Amarapura Nikaya of the Sri Lanka
Amarapura Maha Nikaya. The Minister is seen receiving the
Sri Sannasa of the honorary title from the Most Venerable
Dauldena Sri Gnanissara Mahanayake Thera of the Sri Lanka
