Jeewantha hammers brilliant 158 Colts

CRICKET: Dynamic all rounder and opening batsman Jeevantha Kulatunga slammed a sparkling 158 with five sixes and 15 boundaries to put Colts CC well on course to an outright victory over Saracens SC on the second day of their SLC Premier League Tier ‘A’ cricket tournament match continued at Havelock Park yesterday.

Saracens SC: 166 and 21 for 1.

Colts CC: 406 for 5 (D. Perera 72, J. Kulatunga 158, R. Silva 56, P. Silva 92, I. Ratnayake 3 for 70, E. Gangoda 2 for 67).

Dinesh 5-41

Opening bowler Dinesh Dharshanpriya took a superb five wicket haul to give Ragama CC a good first innings lead over Sri Lanka Army SC on the second day of their SLC Premier League Tier ‘A’ cricket tournament match continued at Panagoda yesterday.

Ragama CC: 229 and 83 (S. de Zoysa 37, S. Prasanna 5 for 26).

Army SC: 152 (D. Indika 33, D. Soysa 42, R. Palleguruge 32, D. Dharshanpriya 5 for 41, D. Gamage 2 for 43, M. Bandara 2 for 37) and 8 for no loss.

Moors amass 343/7

Three splendid half centuries from opener Nadeera Nawala (86), Damitha Hunukumbura (85) and Hasantha Fernando (65) helped Moors SC rattle up a formidable 343 for 7 in their first innings on the second day of their SLC Premier League Tier ‘A’ cricket tournament match against the NCC continued at Braybrooke Place yesterday.

Chamara cracks 145

Sri Lanka discard Chamara Silva hammered a magnificent 145 to help Bloomfield snatch a good first innings lead over the SSC on the second day of their SLC Premier League Tier ‘A’ cricket tournament match continued at Maitland Place yesterday.

SSC: 264.

Bloomfield: 376 for 9 (S. Randiv 26, C. Silva 145, C. Jayasinghe 35, K. Gangodawila 57, C. de Silva 23 n.o, T. Lakshitha 34 n.o, S. Senanayake 7 for 157).

Dinuk claims six wickets

Veteran spinner Dinuk Hettiarachchi claimed an excellent six wicket haul as Chilaw Marians SC put themselves in contention for a morale boosting outright victory over the Tamil Union on the second day of their SLC Premier League Tier ‘A’ cricket tournament match continued at the P. Saravanamuttu Oval yesterday.

A penetrative spell of bowling from Shohan Boralessa (6 for 102) helped the CCC restrict Baduraliya CC to 220 for 8 in their first innings on the second day of their SLC Premier League Tier ‘A’ cricket tournament match continued at Maitland Crescent yesterday.
