National Netball Squad gets ready for 2010 Asian Championships

NETBALL: The Interim Committee of the Netball Federation of Sri Lanka is making arrangements to fill the vacant post of National Junior Netball Coach before the end of this year. Applications are called for this position and those who are interested should send in their applications before 10th December 2009. The necessary forms could be obtained from Mrs. Trixie Nanayakkara, Secretary, NFSL Interim Committee.

Mrs. Nanayakkara said that the 20-member national netball squad is undergoing training at the Sports Ministry grounds and at the Indoor Stadium in preparation for 2010 Asian Netball Championships and the World Netball Championships.Former National Netball Captain and former National Coach Mrs. Nanayakkara added that Junior National Netball Pool will be selected shortly and the training will begin on completion of the 'O' Leval examination.Our junior netballers are expected to compete in two international netball championships in 2010-Asian Junior Netball Championships and Asia Pacific Junior Netball Championships.
