HNB, Nuwara Eliya sponsors Jetwing, St. Andrew's Hotel Snooker

SNOOKER: Elaborate arrangements are ahead in Nuwara Eliya for the Jetwing, St. Andrew's Hotel, Hatton National Bank 06 Ball Pot Black Snooker Tournament 2009 to be played on 18th and 19th December, for the second year in success, in collaboration with the Billiards and Snooker Association of Sri Lanka.

The Jetwing, St. Andrew's Hotel in Nuwara Eliya possess the Billiards and Snooker Tables dating back as far as 1800's when the property was run as a Scots Clubs by a German National named Mr. Hubert. This historic table had been built by C. Larzurrus & Company in India is said to be a reputed company that dealt with Billiards and Snooker Tables, Grand Pianos to during the colonial times. It is impressive to note the preservation of the tables containing the ivory dots. A number of entries are expected from leading clubs in the country as in previous year.

The man behind this grand event is Mr. Renuke Coswatte, Manager of this hotel, and it should be mentioned that he is a man of many innovations to his credit since he organise a successful Ice carving exhibition for the entire country at his hotel.

At a Press briefing held at the hotel recently, a cheque was handed over to the manager by Mr. Indravasan, the Manager of HNB. Nuwara Eliya, who are the sponsors of this event.
