ATHLETICS: Senior Superintendent of Police, Roshan Fernando assumed
office as SSP - Gampola region recently.
SSP Fernando, a proud product of Royal College, Colombo 7, had been a
versatile sportsman during his day. He captained the champion Royal
athletic team in 1979, which won Senior John Tarbet and Junior Public
Schools Meet and Relay Carnival. He had record performances as a star
schoolboy athlete and was award Royal colours five times.
SSP Fernando is one of the early products of the elite Special Task
Force, in which he served for six years. Prior to his new assignment,
SSP Fernando has served in similar capacity in Chilaw, Puttlam and
Jaffna divisions and also as the Director of the Police Hospital. |
