Dazzling Hair Art!

It was hair flair all the way when the the talented students of the Ramani Fernando, Sunsilk Hair Academy graduates made their mark with the Hair Art show.

With over 100 models cat-walking and displaying the glory of the young and upcoming hair dressers, every hair style will be a work of art.

The stunning and bold designs of Hair Art gave hair fanatics much to stare with the latest techniques in revamping and sprucing it up. The trendiest hair designs include the Cut and Curl which also gives you a new twist with a Cut and Shave look and creative hair designs that are sure to amaze any onlooker. The assortment of dynamic colours gave Sri Lankan youth of today, a hip look.

Reputed designer and artiste Senaka de Silva, said, “We started off with the Tribal Collection because we first began to manipulate with hair during our tribal and aboriginal origins.

We revealed styles from around the world including Australian aborigines, the Australian island aborigines, African, South American and even our very own Veddah Sri Lankan style.”

Sporting a tribal hair design himself, Senaka said that they opted to showcase hair style history by showing how the human race have progressed from the tribal days to more futuristic looks like the long hair designs and the shaven head and colour trend.

Next up was Scalp Scapes where attractive hunks mesmerized the female gender of the audience. They were made more handsome with painted tatoos and white hot pants. The simple feminine hair styles were showcased with more appeal. Eventually, the Avant Garde styles in shimmering pink silk revealed that the modern woman of today can go for a gorgeous look with high hair days. The City Chic were for the youthful cosmopolitan social yuppie of today.

Taking the audience from past to present with hair fashion, Senaka said that every year, the students have been talented and bold enough to use more colours and mix and match with the latest trends. Ramani Fernando, the hot name in hair fashion and bridal dressing, said that the graduates are creative and more open to new styles.

True enough, Ramani added that international hair styles are now becoming part of Sri Lankan culture and fashion. In keeping with their `Life can’t wait, make it happen’ motto, Sunsilk has moved up a notch to give twenty scholarships for deserving hair stylists worth Rs. 100,000 each. Brand Manager Danushka said that Sunsilk is a constantly evolving brand and by joining with Ramani Fernando Salons and Senaka, they have indeed put Sri Lankan hair dressing firmly on the map!
