The everlasting arms

I am cradled in his everlasting arms of love
trusting his presence in my life
as I face the unknown
entrusting myself to his loving care.

As time passes, I find myself to recapture
I am comforted in the knowledge
that his everlasting arms are still there
even when I can't feel them.

All of a sudden I feel his touch
around my neck and beneath my feet
I feel completely embraced,
seeming to be held up by something soft and warm

The touch brings me a new way of life
knowing my earnest desire to fulfil
I have experienced counting on his promise
entrusting his everlasting arms to surround me.

Happiness

Happiness is a feeling
That's in the mind
It cannot be bought
It cannot be borrowed
It has to be sought
In ones own way
For it differs
Person to person
from the young
To the old.

A pot of gold alone
Can't make one happy
Other luxuries either
But sans these, some
Can't be happy
At all
Know what gives happiness
Chase after it
Grab it when it comes
Enjoy while it lasts.

Tilaka Gunaratne

Rain

I am dancing in the rain
because no one sees my pain
rolling on my cheeks.

Still...

Rivers of tears..
Sighs of farewell...
White clothes...
Hushed whispers...
Still I do remember.

Quivering hands...
Trembling voices...
Weeping eyes...
Wet hankies...
Still I do remember.

That doomed day, that...
I felt on... unendurable forlorness...
Very well...
Still... I do remember.

- Thyaga Dissanayake

A song to sleep

Nights early hours
slow passing time
Darkness stands still
Bringing silence in
Placid is the night
I hear many notes
Music just nearby
From the night it comes
Gently flowing by
Sleep filled eyes open
I see the dark night
Thoughts disturbing mind

I began to recall
Many hours pass by
My fate is on line
Answers so I searched
Unable to find
I found a perfect song
To keep awake on time
Music flowed gently
I kept my ears to rhyme
Until I fell asleep
To the song of the night.

You - the difference between 'friend' and 'friendship'

Winter is calm... and white in colour...
Autumn dances with ripen apples in red so sharp...
When the time pass so fast...
Life stops at the time
We wanna stay...

You choose red... I... white...
Everlasting gap... between our choices...
The things we do...
Or the things we wanna do...
Different ways of our dreams...,
Yours and mine...

How deep I think...
Taking everything in to my heart...
How far you think... but nothing disturbs your mind...
Unmessurable value of you to me...
The difference between the top and bottom...
The difference between the day and night,
same difference,
between yesterday and today...
The lessons you taught..
and the ones you didn't...
The difference between, the rain
When it's heavy and when it's mild...
The difference between
smiles and laughters...
