Ruwantha joins 100 Club

CRICKET: Nineteen-year-old Ruwantha Prasad Kellepotha of St. Thomas' College, Matale became the first cricketer from the Central Province and from the outstation schools to capture 100 wickets this season when he reached this milestone in their match against Trinity College 'A' played last week.

Ruwantha is a right-arm leg spinner who has now captured 103 wickets at a cost of 1,471 runs at an average of 14.5 runs per wicket.

He is a vicious turner of the ball and on his day, he could be deadly and unplayable. He has been the mainstay of his side's attack and carried the brunt of the attack. He has been very consistent in getting wickets and took 10 for 129 vs Devapathiraja Maha Vidyalaya, Ratgama. He has also captured 9 wickets hauls in a match on three occasions.
