KPMG Jaffna branch recommences operations
KPMG Ford, Rhodes, Thornton & Co. Jaffna branch, which was
established in the late 1970s, has recommenced operations from March at
Nallur, Jaffna.
Commenting on the branch reopening, Nirmal Fernando - Senior Partner
of KPMG Sri Lanka said 'We are excited about the opportunity to reassume
our ties with establishments in the region.'
He added that the dawning of peace and the promise of prosperity in
the region is encouraging.
The Northern and the Eastern provinces have tremendous economic
opportunity and are likely to become fast developing regions in the
years ahead. This could create significant prospects for the people,
enterprises and the country as a whole.'
S. Sirikananathan, Coordinating Partner of the KPMG Jaffna branch
added 'We keenly look forward to continuing to serve the Firm's clients
in the Northern and Eastern provinces and also to advise those who are
eager to explore investment and trade opportunities in these areas.'
He continued to say, 'KPMG in Sri Lanka has a strong history in the
North and the Eastern regions with over three decades of service
experience and continued commitment to the communities.
This was further demonstrated subsequent to the tsunami calamity,
when KPMG constructed two housing villages in Jaffna and Kattankudy.
He also said 'KPMG Sri Lanka is proud of the distinction of being one
of the first internationally affiliated professional practices to
establish its operations in Jaffna.'
