P.D.J. Fernando - New Chairman IBSL
Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, P.D.J. Fernando has
been appointed as the Chairman, of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka
(BSL) with effect from February 18, 2010, by the Governor, Central Bank
of Sri Lanka.
P.D.J. Fernando functioned as the Vice Chairman of the Institute
since July 7, 2009 and was the Acting Chairman of the Institute since
October 2009.
He also functioned as Secretary to the Monetary Board. Prior to being
appointed he held the position of Assistant Governor for about five
years. Fernando holds a BSc. General Degree from the University of
Birmingham, UK.
He also serves as the Director, Lankaclear (Pvt) Ltd. and as a Board
Member of the Lanka Puthra Development Bank. He has been a member of the
Cabinet appointed procurement Committee of petroleum Products for the
Ceylon Petroleum Corporation and of the Negotiation Committee for
Procurement of Petroleum products.
