British Council Cambridge ESOL Awards 2009

The inaugural British Council Cambridge ESOL Awards Ceremony was held on February 18, 2010 at the British Council Hall to mark the achievements of candidates and institutions in relation to these prestigious English Language examinations.

Twenty three young candidates excelled at the Cambridge ESOL examinations were awarded with special awards for their achievements.

Additionally twenty four partner institutes were recognised for their commitment and support in helping a record number of candidates through these examinations. "I think the award is very good because it's internationally recognised and will be very useful in the future.

It's also great to celebrate the achievements of young students, teachers and institutes at an award ceremony.

I think it encourages us to do more and improve more," said 16-year-old award winner Sewwandi Darshika Rathnasekara.
