Civil administration returns to normalcy in North

Civil administration in the North particularly in the liberated areas has been successfully implemented and police stations, court houses and Divisional Secretariats are being re-opened.

The Divisional Secretaries office in Mullaitivu and the new police station at Pooneryn were opened recently.

IGP Mahinda Balasuriya said that the Pooneryn police station would cater to the needs of over 10,000 civilians who were resettled in the area.

Eight police stations will be set up in Mullaitivu and Jaffna within the next eight months, he said.

GA Vavuniya P.S.M. Charles said that civil administration has returned to normalcy. Government departments, hospitals and other institutions are operating in all four Divisional Secretary divisions of the Vavuniya district.

There is remarkable progress in the Nedunkerni-Vavuniya North division, she said.
