The distribution of 200 free PCs to places of worship which conduct computer literacy classes was launched by Neomal Perera at Wanathavilluwa. Yes, of course there is electricity in Wanathavilluwa and I decided to launch my project from Wanathavilluwa to prove how Internet can reach even the remotest villages. For those of you who are not sure of the geography of the area, Wanathavilluwa is just south of the Wilpattu Wild Life Sanctuary in the north of Puttalam district.

Schols for low income students

Scholarships for GCE (AL) passed students of low-income families qualified for university admission will be awarded by the ‘Mapiya Anusmarana’ Scholarship Foundation.

Beneficiaries will be paid a monthly bursary of Rs. 1,500 during the first year.

Applications will close on 31.03.2010.
