Abans, a distributor of Toshiba

Toshiba Expands Resellers Network in Sri Lanka World leader in mobile computing solutions reinforces its commitment and market leadership in the South and Southeast Asia regions for wider consumer touch points

Toshiba's Computer Systems Division (CSD), a division of Toshiba Singapore Pte Ltd and a leading provider of mobile computing solutions, announced the appointment of another distributor, Abans [Pvt] Ltd (ABANS) in Sri Lanka.

With this appointment, Toshiba reinforces a network of resellers in Sri Lanka with ABANS and incumbent John Keells Office Automation (Pvt) Ltd (JKOA) are both Toshiba's key authorised distributors in Sri Lanka.

Both distributors are authorised to sell the complete notebook product line, accessories and post-sales services.

This is Toshiba's commitment to meet the ever increasing demands and demographics of consumers and exemplifies Toshiba's reputation for quality that they expect and reflects the company's long history of building scalable mobility platforms.

Being a global brand, our decision to expand the network with two distributors would certainly help to boost Toshiba notebook brand in Sri Lanka to a wider segment of consumers.

ABANS was selected for their wide retail coverage and excellent post-sales services in the local market, said Dickson Poon, Regional Manager of Toshiba South Asia Regional Headquarters.

JKOA, with their strongly entrenched name in the country, will continue to be Toshiba's key partner.

"This partnership with Toshiba is hugely exciting and will further entrench us with relevance in the local market.

We believe this partnership will create a set of true customer-focused values and technology," said Behman Pestonjee (Tito), Director of ABANS.

Where ABANS philosophy is to engage the customers for a holistic shopping experience. This also fits in with Toshiba's retail channel strategy to bring Toshiba closer to its customers.

Being one of the more preferred popular notebook brands in Sri Lanka, Toshiba aims to achieve 100% year-on-year incremental unit shipment by end 2010. Toshiba has established some initial concept stores and corners across the country, allowing consumers close and easy access for a hands-on and face-to-face dialogue with these retail outlets at Unity Plaza for shopToshiba@Abans and other iSHOP outlets at Abans Elite Colombo 03, Abans Elite Rajagiriya, Abans Elite Mt. Lavania, Abans Elite Welisara and NeXxt@Abans Malabe. With more retail channels expansion expected before end of the year, consumers can expect better timely introduction of new products and faster availability to market to meet their demands for a mobile computing lifestyle.
