Cod liver oil a new elixir to reduce ageing

Seven Seas UK, manufacturer of cod liver oil celebrated 75 years in business at a ceremony in Colombo on Thursday. The company had more reasons to rejoice as research confirmed that Omega 3 in cod liver oil contains anti-ageing properties.

Research published in the Journal of American Medical Association said that Omega 3 in code liver oil helps to slow down ageing in addition to its skin and hair nutritional component.

Omega 3 is found in fish such as salmon, mackerel and sardine which are rare in Sri Lankan seas.

The study has been published in many leading medical journals across the globe increasing awareness on the nutritional value of the fish oil.

Fast food, stress and lack of exercise quickens the ageing process. Health research confirmed that certain vitamins and minerals in food such as Omega 3 could reduce ageing.

Seven Seas cod liver oil is a popular nutritional formula for children.

Seven Seas cod liver oil combines Omega 3 with vitamins A, D, and E and helps maintain healthy hair, skin and prevent heart disease.

Seven Seas cod liver oil is exported to over 100 countries. The capsules are marketed in Sri Lanka by Hemas Pharmaceuticals.
